Duo—a Poem
by Srini Mandavilli

I wonder if there is another poem
In between these lines & hidden,
Only discovered when emotions awaken
Like dormant grass.
What dwells in empty spaces around these letters?
Ignored fears or unsaid words.
Forgotten memories and residue of tears.
There are words I sequestered,
Some reappear like rambunctious children,
Words I use to create memories,
Some slip into the night,
Others wait to be salvaged,
Words waiting to be claimed,
Thoughts are so transient like cherry blossoms.
